About Mary Jo
Mary Jo Brown has been dancing for many years and is still dancing. She received her teaching credentials for multiple subjects and Special Education, along with a fine arts specialization at Chico State University, and has taught in public education for over 38 years. For over twenty years she worked with high school students with emotional challenges, where she enjoyed teaching therapeutic gardening and science. Since she trained to be a Healthy Steps Instructor in 2006, she has continuously taught classes in the Chico Community, at Enloe Regional Cancer Center, and now online. Just recently she has also completed a training program so that she can train others to be Healthy Steps Instructors. She has two grown sons and a cat named “Custard Tart” who joins her when she teaches online from her home studio.
